Yoga Drop-In Classes

 

Drop-in yoga offers the most flexibility for those with full schedules. Pre-registration for drop-in classes is encouraged to ensure your spot. Drop-in classes are first come first serve.

We offer a wide variety of yoga classes. See below for class descriptions. Our schedule is designed to offer a class suitable for multiple levels and interests.

 

Alignment and Yin

This mindful class blends together Critical Alignment Therapy and Yin, for a healing practice for the neck and shoulders, back and hips. Begin your practice with some alignment focused openings and movements on the critical alignment specialized props. Move into some spinal strengthening exercises, then finish off with a delicious Yin practice with a focus on low back and hips. A brilliant mid-week class to release built up tensions and set yourself up to finish the work week with a healthy spine.


Recommended Props:

blankets, felt pad (rolled blankets can be substituted), black spinal strap (pool noodle, rolled yoga mat or rolled blanket can be substituted)

Beginners Hatha Yoga

Beginner Hatha Yoga is an introduction to basic yoga poses. The class emphasizes stretching, coordination of breath with movement and attention to alignment. The class is designed to create breath awareness, enhance balance, and increase strength & flexibility. All yoga classes end with deep relaxation and a guided visualization to help release tension and reduce stress.
 
Recommended props: 
Blanket, blocks, strap (bolster, chair & bender ball optional)

Core Yoga

Improve core stability and strength as you explore the supportive role of the core in posture and movement. Deepen understanding, awareness, flexibility and ultimately strength of your 'centre' using techniques and traditions in the context of a well balanced yoga practice.
 
For this class, recommended props:
blankets, bolster (pillow), optional: yoga strap, & bender ball.

Critical Alignment Therapy

This class will explore various yoga postures using the methods and ideas of Critical Alignment Yoga and Therapy (CAT) in order to re-establish healthier and more functional movement and postural patterns. Each class will make use of the props developed for the practice of CAT, black strip & felt pad. The result is an increase in mobility. An increase in stability. And an expanded sense of self.  

Recommended Props:

blankets, felt pad (rolled blankets can be substituted), black spinal strap (pool noodle, rolled yoga mat or rolled blanket can be substituted)

Critical Core Alignment

This core-inspired class will explore various yoga postures using the methods and ideas of Critical Alignment Yoga and Therapy (CAT) in order to re-establish healthier and more functional movement and postural patterns. Moving through a core sequence will help stabilize into the healthy movement patterns developed with this special practice.
Each class will make use of the props developed for the practice of CAT, black strip & felt pad.

Gentle Yoga

Settle in for a 90 minute gentle yoga class. Explore the union of mind, body and breath through a series of gentle movements and pose variations. End class with a long guided savasana.
 
For this class, recommended props:
2 Blankets, blocks, strap (bolster optional)

Gentle Yoga for Strength

This all levels yoga class is a safe environment to learn how to move our bodies in a way that will help strengthen our bones, tone our muscles and increase over all body awareness. The beauty of yoga is any one at any ability can feel it's benefits!
 
Recommended props:
blankets, yoga strap, blocks, massage balls, bolster (pillow).

Mindful Movement and Pranayama

Using the black strap and traditional Iyengar poses, learn the art of pranayama. Create a relationship with your breath and understand the connection between the prana (breath) and the citta (mind or consciousness). Movements will be slow, with longer holds of each Asana to open the body in preparation for the Pranayama. Different types and variations of pranayama will be explored. Great way to start the day.

Mindful Yin

This 75 minute Yin Yoga class consists of long held floor base postures supported with blocks, bolsters and blankets to stretch the deeper tissues in the body.


This mindful practice works directly with the nervous and subtle body system to calm the mind, body and spirit.
We will close with a meditation to support complete surrender into your savasana preparing you for a restful sleep.
This class is suitable for all levels.

Mindful Yoga For Strength and Core

This multi-faceted class is designed to develop core stability and strength with awareness in movement.

 

Recommended props:
blanket, black strap, fabric strap and blocks (if a student typically uses them).

Morning Yin to Movement

Start your day with the core meditative longer deliberate holds of yin yoga and pranayama breathing ascending to the movement of Hatha yoga to inspire your day.
All levels welcome to stretch, flow and heal your body.

Restorative & Nidra

Restorative practice and Yoga Nidra together are an invaluable le combination for supporting the body’s capacity to heal and generate the vitality needed to thrive in these challenging times. Each class will include 45 minutes of simple yet powerfully grounding restorative poses, and a 30 minute guided Yoga Nidra session to allow comprehensive integration of your life experiences in this moment. Each session will leave you relaxed and refreshed to be present in your life.

Recommended props: Bolster (pillow), blankets & blocks.

Restorative Yoga

With the use of props, find poses to restore and rejuvenate the body and mind. During the class, sound, breath & meditation (such as Yoga Nidra) will be used to help you leave behind stress and tension.  Enjoy this mid-week healing class that will get you to Friday with more ease and energy.

Slow Flow Yoga

Join Luann as she links yoga poses together in a thoughtful manner. Expect to build strength, stability and flexibility. Bring your mat and any props you like though none will be required. All levels welcome.

Stretchy Sunday

Join Karen for a deliciously indulgent extension to your Sunday morning lie-in, as we wile away an hour focusing on body, breath and heart. Sunday morning stretch will be Yin inspired.


Yin yoga is a stilling practice that cultivates a deep sense of awareness through the release of mind and body stresses. An antidote to urban life, Yin focuses on releasing the connective tissue of the body (tendons, ligaments and fascia). Poses are held for longer periods, allowing the student to relax as they express patience and quietness.

Suitable for all levels including beginners.

Yoga For Healthy Backs

Yoga has been demonstrably helpful in alleviating the back problems that so many people suffer from. There has been sophisticated research in this area and yoga is now considered by many medical practitioners to be amongst the most beneficial modalities in the treatment of a acute and chronic back conditions. Over time, yoga can increase your strength and flexibility, effectively counteracting the tightness and weak muscles that cause many types of back pain. Make sure to consult your doctor before trying yoga.

Yoga For Hips & Hamstrings

This one hour class is a perfect way to end your week by releasing tension in the hips and hamstrings. It will incorporate slow gentle flowing movements to build strength and flexibility. Finishing with longer warming holds, will help to melt stress away, which the hips love to hold.
